New Internetwork Expert Workbook II updates

Posted in Cisco on July 2nd, 2010 by Saba – Be the first to comment

Everyone using IE wb for lab, I just downloaded all the vol II updates as of this week and started to copy the base configs and noticed a command on the switch configs not supported on my switch code 12.2(25)SEE2 on a 3560-24TS.

This command is neighbor 10.1.10.10 transport path-mtu-discovery under the BGP AS process.

Does anyone know if I have to upgrade my switches if so to what code level ???

Audio in handset when using headset

Posted in Cisco, Uncategorized on July 1st, 2010 by Saba – Be the first to comment

Thanks for the reply

I’ve read the two Bug Details you posted.

Our phones have OS Load ID cnu42.8-5-2TH-9 Our Callmanager is 7.1.3.30000-1

I read somewhere else, about a FW 9.0(3). Would upgrade to this version be better?

thanks

There is an enhancement to disable this via phone config settings (Handset/Headset Monitor). It is dependent on phone load and CUCM version.

As the name implies, it’s so supervisors can easily monitor calls via the handset/headset if the other is in use.

CSCsz35375 will show you where the feature got checked in to CUCM.

Looks like it went into a late 6.1(3)ES, 6.1(4)ES, and 6.1(5) base on 6.x. You’ll also want to be aware of CSCtg89332.

I’ve just tried this on my 7941 and it does this as well, although I’ve never really noticed it before as the sound coiming out of the handset is fairly quiet.

CUCM 6.1.3.2103

OSPF @ Frame-relay

Hello Mate,

I believe if you could implement frame relay and run ospf you will not require any material to follow, The Network types are Broadcast Non Broadcast Point to point Point to multipoint Point to multipoilnt non broadcast.

Just implement all all these kinds of network over frame relay and you could do it over GNS3.

Remember if you find the word Broadcast – DR/BDR are elected and neigbour are formed by itself. If you find the keyword Non Broadcast then you need to manually form Neighbors…

That should be very simple.

However if you see INE labs for OSPF they demonstrate it very nicely and easy to understand and if you want to master it then do the Narkbik labs for OSPF .

Voice Loop H323!!

This only a partial debug of what’s going on. All that is shown here is that a call comes in and it is disconnected because it has the same call ID. You want to look at the same calling/called numbers as well as the IP (H.323/SIP) debugs to go along with this.

Most likely your dial peers are not specific enough. You’ve probably got something like two dial peers with a destination-pattern of .T, or maybe a variable length dial plan that isn’t working as expected. A ’show run | i destination-pattern’ may help you figure out what the router is trying to do from a call routing perspective.

The trick is setting your console speed to the max. It helps ever so slightly, in terms of hours wasted.
